Oh hallelujah!
Today, I received the magic email. The wonderful folks at Blood Bound Books have accepted my short story “Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep”, for publication in their upcoming anthology Night Terrors II.
It’s a story about a recently-single mother, dealing with strange goings on around her daughter. I don’t have any more details about the anthology yet, other than there was a huge number of submissions, but I look forward to sharing them with you nearer the release.
One of the reasons I’m so happy about this sale is that this is my first sale of 2011. And coming in September, it’s been quite a dry spell. I think it’s mostly due to the fact that I put my writing on hold for the first part of the year, in preference to my final year of university. But still, as a writer it’s not been a fun nine dry months.
So here’s to a taste of success, being all the sweeter for taking so bleedin’ long to get here.
